Aust Secure SSL has direct access to Comodo/IdAuthority, the largest commercial directory on the Web. This means that Aust Secure SSL can use an efficient and highly effective validation method to validate your application much faster. We can issue a Certificate at a greatly reduced cost and guarantee the lowest price in the industry. This method also enables us to maintain a far superior level of validation to the methods used by other SSL providers.

We believe it is important to protect the end user. If we were to issue a Certificate to a fraudulent site with an SSL link to the end user, the user could lose money by transacting with what they believe to be a "trusted session". Comodo should not have provided an opportunity for the fraudster to engineer this situation.

That's why we take out insurance - so we can pay the end user back in the unlikely event that we issue a Certificate to a fraudulent site that takes their money.

Aust Domains recognises that strong validation is essential for the continuing growth of ecommerce. Before it issues a Certificate, Comodo first validates that the applicant owns, or has legal right to use, the domain name featured in the application. Second, Comodo validates that the applicant is a legitimate and legally accountable entity. To perform this validation, Comodo needs access to documentation that verifies that the applicant meets these two criteria.

The cause is usually that the Aust Secure Certificate has not been loaded or installed correctly.

The CSR must contain at least the following fields:

• Organisation
• Organisational Unit
• Locality (City)
• State/Province
• Country (2 character code)
• Common Name (Fully Qualified Domain Name)

Another possibility is that the CSR contains non-alphanumeric characters in the required fields. Make sure your CSR begins with 5 dashs and ends with 5 dashes as below:

Microsoft IIS is configured to require a secure channel. The following steps will allow non-secure (http) connections to your site. Within Microsoft Internet Information Server, right click on your website. Under Secure Communications, click Edit. Un-check the box that says 'Require Secure Channel'.

When you have enrolled for your SSL Certificate you will be provided with an Order Number and instructions on what to do next. These instructions will also be emailed to you.

Here's a summary of what we need to do. If we already have a record of your company and domain name(s) in the IdAuthority, the largest company directory on the Web, we will be able to expedite your SSL application. In most cases, this means we can validate your application and issue your SSL Certificate in only a few minutes.

If we do not already hold sufficient information on your company and domain name(s), or your application data does not completely match the IdAuthority entry for your website, we may require additional information. These informational requirements will be provided during the enrolment process and via email.

We may request your Business License, Articles of Association or DUNS information (depending on your country and incorporation status). If you are a non-incorporated business or use a trading name please contact us for further instructions.

If you want to change something in the Certificate that is part of the company details then you need to email those changes to us.

You'll need to send a new CSR so the changes can be written into a new Certificate, and you'll need to install the new certificate.

To get an update on the status of an SSL order that is awaiting validation please email us. The validation team will then respond with the reason for the delay in issuing or validating the SSL certificate.

You will need a new CSR for the domain. Once you have your CSR file you will need to reapply for a new SSL.

Some web servers will allow this, but we recommend (for security reasons) a new CSR for every renewal. If you use the original CSR and someone has previously acquired the Private Key without your knowledge then you are still at risk of attacks during encrypted sessions. If you use a new CSR then anyone possessing the Private Key looses the ability to decrypt your encrypted sessions when you apply the new certificate issued from the new CSR.

No, the dates are hard-coded into the certificate and cannot be changed. Therefore at renewal time you will need to order a new certificate. So that you don't have to do this every year, why not buy a certificate valid for more years?

Changing ownership of an account is a PERMANENT function. You will not be able to change the ownership back once you have made the change.

As you may know, ownership change means to transfer all of the rights and duties of the account to the designated person/entity. To protect your properties, we do not accept the application of ownership change online, by telephone or email.
